Song: Island Style

Lomi Lomi Salmon

Hey friends.  Life has gotten really busy.  It's all good, but "brain space" for this blog has been set aside.  For now.  In place of this, I'm publishing some of my past reviews, mostly songs.  These were published between 2018-2022.  I'll get back to you with some fresh content.

Song: Island Style (review originally posted in 2019).

This song by John Cruz was released the same time I moved to Honolulu, and it’s kept me kama`aina since. It’s a simple, easy kanikapila (jam). The joy is much deeper. Again, too many words spoils the depth. Just sing and enjoy life.

Polynesian spirituality is based on life is good, meant to be enjoyed and celebrated and shared. Mahalo Brother Cruz for including this soul in the wideness of Island Style.

Here’s a clip of that sharing: https://youtu.be/6Bpt53CM_JY

Here's a vintage photo of the late Gabby Pahinui and friends playing kanikapila.
